Watched: The Mighty Boosh [tv]

Not just rewatched, but in fact, my third rewatching of this silly, surreal, absurd, outlandish, disgusting, charming show. It's so immature and yet has moments of such insane clever character/plot/wordplay mechanics that I keep coming back to it during rough times. If you're having a less than fun time currently, you could do far worse than binging this easy-to-binge, three season (25 minute episode) long show. The show eases you into the insanity, starting the first season with our heroes Harold Moon and Vince Noir working at a zoo and having various adventures. The second season has completely dropped the zoo premise without comment although the main supporting characters (Naboo the wizard/genie, the gorilla Bollo, and Bob Fossil (originally the owner of the zoo) show up in different contexts throughout the rest of the show. Instead they're living together in an apartment with Naboo and Bollo and try to start a music career together. The third season moves even farther away from reality as they run some kind of knick-knack shop that Naboo owns. The show also constantly recycles its main actors to the point where the actors Julian Baratt (Howard Moon) and Noel Fielding (Vince Noir) almost always show up in at least one other role (and often multiple) in each episode. Various other favorite British comedians show up from time to time (my favorite episodes are usually the ones where Richard Ayoade shows up as a quarrelsome member of the wizard's counsel). I'm not going to offer any context for the screenshots I've taken from various episodes of each season of this show.  Just enjoy them in all their glory and if you haven't watched the show, give it a shot.
